My compassion for dogs led me to pursue a different path than expected. Years ago while working in my first career as a CPA, I volunteered time with several rescue and foster groups and started to see a common theme. There was often a foundational problem with the many dogs cycling through shelters and a correlated lack of training and miscommunication.

After nearly a decade working as a CPA, I left the corporate desk life to become a Professional Dog Trainer. Now, I seek to play a role in helping the canine and canine parent better communicate. I believe education is key.

I understand my clients' struggles first hand. My heart dog, my first, Sophie, was a handful and I had no idea what to do. Education and training saved our relationship and opened the door for an amazing friendship, and truly joyful companionship. I see you. I hear you. I can help you.

I am grateful for the opportunity to make a true impact on opening the communication lines between people and their canine companions; strengthening the relationship for a lifetime of fun, and unconditional love.

As a Winston-Salem native, supporting pet parents in our community is an important endeavor.  But I don't limit myself and strive to create programs which are available beyond the Triad.

After graduating from Mount Tabor High School, I attended Appalachian State University and Wake Forest University, graduating with a BS in Business from WFU and went on to earn a MSA from The University of North Carolina – Greensboro. I began my work in the canine training profession with a large franchise which lead me to strive for more information. I decided it was time to fly on my own; to allow for more freedom in how I approach the work with the dog and pet parent. Since making the leap to the canine world, I am a forever student of the craft. Continuing education and professional development are essential in my work in order to bring out the best in what I teach, and the best in my students.

My holistic approach to our relationship with our dogs is rooted in honoring the dog as a whole; to find physical, mental, and emotional health. I am passionate about educating others on dog obedience, behavior, structure needs, nutrition and general wellness.

When I'm not working, I'm often hiking or playing with our dogs, meal-prepping for us and our dogs, gardening, doing home improvement projects, brain storming my next business idea, or simply lounging with my husband, Kevin, and our five rescue dogs  - The Party of 5 - Sophie, Georgia, Maverick, Henri, and Zeta.
