Shannon Martin

Shannon is a lifelong animal lover! She holds a BA in Psychology from UNCG. During college, she was chosen as the Animal Care and Training intern at The Dolphin Research Center in the Florida Keys, where she was able to learn the fundamentals of training and practice her skills with hands-on experiences with
dolphins and sea lions. She returned home to NC and worked briefly with primates at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center but decided to pursue other opportunities. She worked in Victim Services for the WSPD for 7 years; then taught K/1st grade for the next 12 years until she decided she wanted to work with animals again. After an internship and training a bit on her own, she
connected with Coach Andrea to learn more about behavioral training. Shannon lives with her husband, 4 kids, and 2 German Shepherds, Raven and Athena.
